In honor of Ofc. Larry Cox on the 10 year anniversary of his End of Watch, a candlelight vigil will be held on the steps of the Ross County Common Pleas Courthouse. Please plan to attend on 4-21-15 at 7:00PM.

ID made in theft from Kohls

We believe ID has been made, and just waiting on some loose ends to be confirmed. We thank everyone who called, emailed and text info. We received tips from Kentucky and Portsmouth, so thanks to those that shared info to get it down where it needed to go

The ID of the pictured suspect is sought by the CPD.   The woman is a suspect in several thefts from Kohls.  The woman was last confronted by loss prevention on Thursday but was able to escape in a gold Mercury with Kentucky plates. 

It is believed she is staying locally due to her pattern of recent thefts.  Anyone knowing the ID of the suspect can call Ofc. Lawhorn at 740-773-1191.

Chillicothe FD announces Civil Service Test

The city of Chillicothe has posted the Civil Service Test for the position of Firefighter. Information is on the attached PDF form below.
The application period is from March 13, 2015 through April 3, 2015 from 8:00AM-4:30PM. Applications can be downloaded here as well.

Fish and Tenderloin Fry Fundraiser

Please Plan to attend The Citizens for a Safer Chillicothe fish fry fundraiser at The Phoenix Fire Co. No 2, located at 68 E. Second  St.   The event is March 27th, 2015 from 11a-6P.

Tickets for either a fish or tenderloin dinner are $8 a piece and can be purchased from several of our firefighters or police officers.   Deserts will be available for purchase.

You can drive thru or carry out.  For an added treat, you can Dine inside this historical downtown Chillicothe landmark where Members of the committee will be on hand to answer questions.

Missing person Wanda Lemons

The mother of Ms. Lemons filed a report on this date stating she had not spoken to her daughter Wanda for over 2 months. Although common for Ms. Lemons to go without being heard from for periods of time, her mother states it is unlike her to not call or visit during the holidays.
The investigating officer contacted a friend of Ms. Lemons from information given by her mother. The friend advised he had last seen Ms. Lemons on 11-3-14. Days later, The friend heard she had gone to Texas with a truck driver named Demarcus or Darius Thomas, B/M unk. age. The officer is following up on other information and leads as they become available. Due to information we received and other facts in this matter, Ms. Lemons fit the criteria for  immediate entry into the LEADS/NCIC system. If she is contacted by Law Enforcement, they will be notified she is a missing person.

Wanda Lemons is a w/f, 5’07” 135 pounds brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts can call Ofc. C. King with the Chillicothe, Oh police department at 740-773-1191.

Person arrested in Kohls case

Shortly after posting this on Facebook, numerous persons called and sent messages to Crimestoppers.  The first tipster from Crimestoppers gave good information with the correct suspect info for a female from Washington CH.  Authorities in Fayette County contacted our department.  Working their end in Washington CH, was able to locate her and serve an unrelated warrant for her arrest.  Thanks to those that called and sent info to Crimestoppers.  Info regarding the tip will be sent to Crimestoppers for evaluation.

On 3-3-15 a female entered Kohls, selected merchandise and concealed it on her person. The suspect then left the store.  Loss Prevention attempted to stop her, she refused to comply and got into a black Pontiac.  The Pontiac, driven by a man, fled the scene.

Statewide Tornado siren test on 3-6-15

On 3-6-15 at 9:50AM, The Chillicothe Police Dept.   will be setting off the Tornado sirens as part of the State of Ohio’s sirenStatewide tornado drill.

Please do not call the police department to get current road conditions. In the event a road is closed (Carlisle Hill, University Dr.) the dispatcher could have that information, but local media outlets should be monitored. The current snow level dictates whether or not travel is safe, dispatchers will not
