On December 8, 2014 at approx. 6:30pm Detectives with the Chillicothe Police Department along with agents with the U.S. Secret Service served a search warrant at 415 E. Water St. Apt. A in ref. to a drug trafficking and counterfeit money investigation. After securing the occupants it was found that the suspect was making fake $20 bills as officers entered the apartment. During the search Detectives located a large amount of counterfeit bills, equipment used to make the bills such as a computer and printer, cutting tools, pills and cash. Detectives arrested Keith A. Bowman Dob/5-31-84 of 415 E. Water St. Apt. A for one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs. The U.S. Secret Service will present the case to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for charges under the U.S. Code in U.S. Federal Court. The investigation continues and other suspects may face charges relating to this case.
At 1403 hrs on 12-8-14 a w/m entered the Smoker Friendly, 1080 N. Bridge in the city of Chillicothe. The subject produced a large kitchen knife and demanded the clerk give him money. The clerk complied with the suspect and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a 6’00 tall white male wearing a gray hoodie, gray sweatpants black and white tennis shoes, and his face was covered by a yellow bandanna.

The suspect believed to be a white male, 5-10 to 6-0 with a medium build, wearing a hooded sweatshirt or jacket, black pants, black shoes, light colored gloves and a blue bandana entered the store displayed a large knife and then demanded the cash from the drawer. Last seen walking e/b across the front of the store.
Aggravated Robbery, November 19, 2014 8:51am Circle K 659 N. High St.
The suspect described as a white male, 5-11 to 6-0 with a medium build, wearing black pants, black hooded sweatshirt or jacket, purple in color gloves, white in color shoes and a green in color bandana over his face entered the store producing a large knife demanding money from the register. The suspect left on foot to the east.
Aggravated Robbery, December 4, 2014 7:08pm Certified 1257 Western Ave.
The suspect described as 6-2 to 6-4, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, brown hair and eyes, and wearing a yellow and white bandana, over his face and Christmas mittens on his hands entered the store, displayed a large butcher type knife and demanded cash from the register. The suspect fled on foot e/b across the front of the store.
Any information can help us to solve these crimes. The public is asked to call in any suspicious activity to the police dispatcher. Officers have been advised to check on service stations and convenience stores during their shifts. Detectives are working all three cases checking any leads or information in an attempt to identify and arrest the perpetrator(s).
On November 26, 2014 at approx. 9:45pm a male white suspect entered the Circle K convenience store at 659 N. High St., brandished what appeared to be a black semi-automatic pistol and demanded cash from the employee. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands giving him $30 from the register and he then fled in a black passenger car. Responding Chillicothe Police Officers located the vehicle parked in front of a residence on Park Street and the suspect, Johnathan Matthew Heck (DOB/8-1-1988), was arrested soon after. Mr. Heck matched the physical and clothing description provided by witnesses and seen on store surveillance. Mr. Heck admitted to the robbery and pointed out to where he had hidden the cash and pistol. The pistol was found to be a completely black replica Beretta BB pistol. Mr. Heck was taken to the Ross County jail charged with one count of Robbery (F-2).
A train has derailed on Douglas Ave. at the tracks. The train contained corn and no hazardous materials. Please make alternate routes of travel. The cleanup could take hours.
The Chillicothe Fire Department along with the Red Cross and Ross County Sheriff are offering FREE smoke detectors. By calling one of these organizations, you will get the smoke detector installed and receive fire safety and prevention training in your home. It is important for homes to have
working smoke, heat and Carbon Monoxide detectors. Make sure children, the elderly and handicap residents know how to exit the home in case of an emergency. Have a fire escape plan in place.

The Mayor’s office has announced that Trick or Treat (also referred to as Beggar’s Night) will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30th, 2014. The hours are from 6P-7:30PM. Ages 12 and under only please.

We posted a series of pictures yesterday. The 2 suspects in Picture #2 have been identified. But, we still need the single suspect picture identified. Thanks to all those that phoned, emailed tips in.
The Chillicothe Police Department is seeking the Identity of the subjects in the attached pictures. The subjects are suspects in the continuing Breaking and Enterings of the former Smith Middle School. Although the school is vacant, it is still the property of others. During many of the B&Es, materials have been stolen, services disrupted and due to the state of disrepair could be dangerous to those that may be just “looking around.”
