What is the Snow emergency level? AEP outage? School closing?

With snow comes hazardous road conditions. Motorists should take precautions when traveling. Before venturing out on the roadways, it is important to be prepared. One of snowcrusierthe most important things to know is the snow emergency levels,
Below is a list of the snow levels. You should monitor local news (TV and radio) and check local media websites such as
The Chillicothe Gazette
WKKJ radio
to keep up to date on the current levels.
Please do not call the police department to get current road conditions. In the event a road is closed (Carlisle Hill, University Dr.) the dispatcher could have that information, but local media outlets should be monitored. The current snow level dictates whether or not travel is safe, dispatchers will not
be able to make the determination if roads are safe to drive upon. During snow emergencies, it is important to keep the phone lines open for emergencies.

No-Shave November to raise money for Southern Ohio Survivors

beard 1
Wonder why our Officers have facial hair this month? Normally our male patrol officers have to keep facial hair to military style regulations. Well, Its NO-Shave November and our chief has again allowed us to raise some money for charity.
Last year, the Chillicothe PD raised over $800 for the American Cancer Society. Ofcs. were allowed to grow a goatee for their donation of $25.

This year, our goal is $1,000 and Ofcs. have the option of either a goatee($25) or a beard ($50). Females, can pay $50 to allow their hair below the collar.
We wanted to give locally this year, and have selected Southern Ohio Survivors to receive the funds. This is a local program that focuses on cancer survivor needs caused by reduced income, emotional turmoil and necessary lifestyle changes.
We would like to encourage the public to give as well, and a link  to their site has been set up to donate funds in the Chillicothe Police Department’s name. Click the DONATE button below. Any amount will be appreciated.donate_hand

Daylight savings time change

Daylight saving time ends tonight, so that means you need to set your clocks back at 2:00AM. This is a great time to change batteries on your smoke detectors AND Carbon Monoxide detectors as well. An inspection for expiration date, lights and sound should also be performed.
