Search warrants served

On October 31st at approx. 8pm Chillicothe Police Detectives and Officers with the Special Response Team served multiple search warrants in the city. The first warrant was served at 77 S. Rose St. where Detectives located a large amount of cocaine and heroin. Also located was drug paraphernalia and cash. Lamont Ellington was charged with possession of cocaine (F1) and Possession of Heroin (F3). Harold Nichols and John Kepler were charged with permitting drug abuse. Both had been warned about allowing drug dealers use their residence to operate in the past.

The second search warrant was served at 741 E. 4th St. Detectives located drug paraphernalia and arrested the resident, Mindy Maxwell who was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments. Ms. Maxwell admitted to allowing Lamont Ellington sell drugs from her residence. Evidence obtained from these warrants will be sent to the lab at BCI&I and additional charges could be presented before the Ross County Grand Jury.

The Chillicothe Police Department reminds citizens that they can email anonymous complaints of drug activity to drugtip@chillicothepolice.com.  Complaints can also be made through Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers by calling (740)773-TIPS or (800)222-TIPS, by texting keyword LOWDOWN to CRIMES (274637) or on their website at www.southernohiocrimestoppers.com . Tips leading to arrests could result in a cash reward.

These complaints will be reviewed and investigated by detectives of the Chillicothe Police Department.

 

 

Search warrant served

On June 20, 2013 at approx. 2:15pm Detectives along with the Special Response Team served a search warrant at 912 Madison Ave. Detectives searched the residence and located a large amount of heroin , cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a gun and a large amount of cash. Heather R. Kuntz, the resident, was arrested and charged with permitting drug abuse and Brandon K. Suel was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine (F-5) and possession of heroin (2nd degree felony). Evidence will be submitted to the lab at BCI and additional charges are pending presentation before the Ross County Grand Jury.

Search warrant 640 Glencroft Ave. Stolen firearms recoverd

At approximately 12:15PM, 5-16-13, the Chillicothe Police Department Special Response Team and detectives executed a search warrant at 640 Glencroft Avenue. Upon entering the residence, detectives found heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a gun and a large amount of cash. Numerous subjects were inside of the residence at the time of the search warrant and 3 subjects were arrested in connection with the drugs and gun.

During the course of this investigation, detectives received information that led to the recovery of two (2) additional guns that had been reported stolen; a semi-automatic rifle located at 640 E Water St and a bolt action rifle located at 444 Church St. These firearms had recently been stolen during burglaries.
Information received also led to the arrest of Leland Brown on two felony warrants. Mr. Brown was under indictment for a series of thefts from local stores, that included stealing employees personal property.

Prior to the Search warrant, the Patrol Division had visited the house numerous times, doing “knock and talks”. These knock and talks were opportunities to gather information as to was staying in the house, and put a direct officer presence with complaints being made at the house.

Also, approx. 1 month ago, Ofcs. Acting on a crimestoppers tip, involving stolen property form the Carlisle Building, patrol officers conducted a consent search at the residence. The resident allowed officers to search the house. The resident pointed out several items a person of interest in the thefts had left in the garage. Thousands of dollars in stolen property was located, and will soon be returned to its owners pending charges and investigation.

Search Warrant served

On May 2nd at approx. 2pm Chillicothe Police Detectives along with the Special Response Team served a search warrant at 356 Riverside St. after conducting an investigation into drug trafficking. Located inside the residence was Heroin, cocaine, marijuana, pills, drug paraphernalia, cash and several guns. Arrested was Reynard L. Reed who was charged with possession of heroin and possession of weapons while under disability. Detectives learned that Reed was moving into the residence at 222 Hirn St.

Detectives went to 222 Hirn St. and contacted Antonio L. Woodfork. A search of that residence found cocaine, marijuana, cash, and several weapons. Woodfork was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of weapons while under disability. Evidence in this case will be submitted to the lab at BCI and additional charges will be presented before the Ross County Grand Jury.

Rising Meth labs prompt search warrant service

On April 25, 2013 at approximately 8:00AM the Chillicothe Police Department Special Response Team and Detectives executed a search warrant at 87 N Rose St. Upon entering the residence the Special Response Team detected the strong smell of chemicals and could see fumes from these chemicals inside of the house. Three (3) subjects were removed from the house. Thirty to forty (30-40) “one-pot” meth labs were discovered inside of the residence, some of these actively “cooking” at the time of entry. The Chillicothe Fire Department Hazardous Materials team was called to the scene and are still actively working to neutralize the chemicals. This is the largest meth operation “bust” in the City of Chillicothe this year and the fifth (5th) one in the last month. The three (3) subjects located inside of the residence were all arrested and charged with possession of chemicals used to manufacture drugs. Additional charges against all three (3) subjects are pending the continuing investigation.

Search Warrant Served

On April 24, 2013 at approximately 1:45PM, the Chillicothe Police Department Special Response Team
and Detectives executed a search warrant at 905 Akron Street. When they entered the home Amber Thomas, the resident, was contacted, along with a small child. Detectives found heroin and items associated with drug abuse inside of the residence. The child was released into the custody of Ross County Job and Family Services, Children Services Division. Ms. Thomas was arrested and will be arraigned in Chillicothe Municipal Court on April 25th.

Ms. Thomas was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments and Child endangerment.

On January 10th, 2013 at approx. 2pm Chillicothe Police Detectives along with the S.R.T. and US 23 Pipeline Task Force Agents served two search warrants in Lincoln Park. The occupants in these apartments have been under investigation for trafficking in illegal narcotics and the search warrants were obtained after detectives were able to purchase heroin from these locations.
All evidence seized will be sent to BCI&I and the cases will be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for presentation before the Grand Jury.

In 203 Lincoln Park Detectives located Heroin, pills and drug paraphernalia. Charged was,
-Donta WL Thompson, M/B/21, LKA 248 Maplewood Dr., Chillicothe for possession of heroin
-Steven L. Oleary, M/W/32, LKA 79 E. 7th St., Chillicothe for possession of drug abuse instruments
-Shawn M. Zeisler, M/W/22, LKA 41 Marigold Ln., Chillicothe for possession of drug abuse instruments

In 302 Lincoln Park Detectives located drug paraphernalia, marijuana, cash, and suboxone. Charged,
-Dominique A. Liggins, M/B/24, LKA 14 Bowman rd., Chillicothe for possession of drug abuse instruments
-Brandon D. Beverly, M/B/20, Chillicothe for possession of marijuana
-Tamara K. Barnes, F/B/20, 664 Pine St., Chillicothe for possession of marijuana.

12-11-12 search warrant info

The Chillicothe Police Department Special Response Team served two (2) drug search warrants on December 11th. The first was served on the residence at 258 S. Mulberry St. at approximately 5:30PM. Officers contacted 8 subjects inside of the residence. While searching the residence, Officers found heroin along with paraphernalia associated with heroin use. Arrested was Rex Keaton and Jeremy Dunn.

A second search warrant was served on the residence at 327 Clay St at approximately 6:00PM. Officers contacted multiple subjects inside of the residence. Inside of the residence was located several items of drug paraphernalia and evidence of heroin trafficking and heroin use. Heroin was also found on Alicia Hardesty’s person. Hardesty was arrested.

All evidence seized was forwarded to BCI&I for chemical analysis. Additional charges pending the results of this analysis.

Jeremy Dunn Rex Keaton The Chillicothe Police Department Special Response Team served two (2) drug search warrants on December 12. The first was served on the residence at 258 S. Mulberry St. at approximately 5:30PM. Officers contacted 8 subjects inside of the residence. While searching the residence, Officers found heroin along with paraphernalia associated with heroin use. Arrested was Rex Keaton and Jeremy Dunn.

A second search warrant was served on the residence at 327 Clay St at approximately 6:00PM. Officers contacted multiple subjects inside of the residence. Inside of the residence was located several items of drug paraphernalia and evidence of heroin trafficking and heroin use. Heroin was also found on Alicia Hardesty’s person. Hardesty was arrested. All evidence seized was forwarded to BCI&I for chemical analysis. Additional charges pending the results of this analysis.

Search warrants served

On this date at approx. 3pm Chillicothe Police Detectives along with the Special Response team served a search warrant at 433 Lillie St. Detectives located heroin, drug paraphernalia, and cash during the search. Arrested was Ervin B. Himelrick, Jr. for possession of heroin, Tameron Himelrick for permitting drug abuse, Dustin Brock for a warrant charging petty theft and driving under suspension and Elizabeth Hankins for a warrant charging felony possession of drugs.

At 4:30pm Detectives and the Special Response Team served a second search warrant at 423 Mill St. Detectives located cocaine, drug paraphernalia and evidence of heroin abuse/trafficking. Arrested was Anthony E. Atwood for possession of cocaine and Elizabeth Yeager for possession of drug abuse instruments.

Search warrant served

The Chillicothe Police Department Special Response Team and Detectives served a drug search warrant at approximately 5:00PM on August 1, 2012. The search warrant was served at 90 N Rose St where cocaine, drug paraphernalia and cash was located inside of the residence. Arrested were the resident Veronica Roberts and Sidney B. Wilson from Columbus, Ohio.
