On December 4, 2012 at approx. 5:30PM, the Chillicothe Police Department Emergency Response Team and detectives served a search warrant at 203 Lincoln Park. The Chillicothe Police Department had received numerous complaints of heroin use and drug trafficking at this residence.
The residents, Letha Atencio and Leland Brandon were located inside of the residence, along with two (2) small children. During a search of the residence, evidence of heroin use and trafficking was located. The condition of the residence was found to be deplorable. Ross County Children’s Services were called, in relation to the children, and the two (2) small children, along with three (3) siblings who were not at the residence when the warrant was served, were released to a relative.
Letha Atencio and Leland Brandon were both arrested and charged with misdemeanor child endangering. It was also found that Atencio had an outstanding warrant from Pike County, Ohio. Both were incarcerated and arraigned at 9:00AM on December 5, 2012 in Chillicothe Municipal Court.
Additional charges could be pending based on chemical analysis from BCI&I.
