At approximately 12:15PM, 5-16-13, the Chillicothe Police Department Special Response Team and detectives executed a search warrant at 640 Glencroft Avenue. Upon entering the residence, detectives found heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a gun and a large amount of cash. Numerous subjects were inside of the residence at the time of the search warrant and 3 subjects were arrested in connection with the drugs and gun.
During the course of this investigation, detectives received information that led to the recovery of two (2) additional guns that had been reported stolen; a semi-automatic rifle located at 640 E Water St and a bolt action rifle located at 444 Church St. These firearms had recently been stolen during burglaries.
Information received also led to the arrest of Leland Brown on two felony warrants. Mr. Brown was under indictment for a series of thefts from local stores, that included stealing employees personal property.
Prior to the Search warrant, the Patrol Division had visited the house numerous times, doing “knock and talks”. These knock and talks were opportunities to gather information as to was staying in the house, and put a direct officer presence with complaints being made at the house.
Also, approx. 1 month ago, Ofcs. Acting on a crimestoppers tip, involving stolen property form the Carlisle Building, patrol officers conducted a consent search at the residence. The resident allowed officers to search the house. The resident pointed out several items a person of interest in the thefts had left in the garage. Thousands of dollars in stolen property was located, and will soon be returned to its owners pending charges and investigation.

On 5-09-13, the CPD held its first annual awards banquet. A committee of Sgts. and Officers researched the

records of current officers, some in excess of 25 years in length. The committee recommended awards from life saving events, to programs and efforts individual officers have contributed to the success of the department, to service length awards. Needless to say, the awards were given for collective years of an officers career. Officers will be authorized to wear ribbons o their uniforms.
The Chillicothe Police Department has a long history stretching from the early 1800’s to present. Efforts are being made to finish up a more complete history.
On May 2nd at approx. 2pm Chillicothe Police Detectives along with the Special Response Team served a search warrant at 356 Riverside St. after conducting an investigation into drug trafficking. Located inside the residence was Heroin, cocaine, marijuana, pills, drug paraphernalia, cash and several guns. Arrested was Reynard L. Reed who was charged with possession of heroin and possession of weapons while under disability. Detectives learned that Reed was moving into the residence at 222 Hirn St.
Detectives went to 222 Hirn St. and contacted Antonio L. Woodfork. A search of that residence found cocaine, marijuana, cash, and several weapons. Woodfork was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of weapons while under disability. Evidence in this case will be submitted to the lab at BCI and additional charges will be presented before the Ross County Grand Jury.
