ID sought in wallet theft

The CPD is attempting to ID a suspect in a theft of a wallet from Speedway, N. Bridge ST. On 7-21-14, this female is suspected in taking a wallet that was left behind at the cash register. Anyone able to ID the suspect can contact Ofc. Multiple search warrants served

On July 16, 2014 the Chillicothe Police Department with assistance from the Ohio Organized Crime Commission served three drug search warrants in the city.

The first search warrant was served at 167 Scioto Ave., Amber Sherrick’s residence. Marijuana was seized from the home. Two children were also removed from the home due to living conditions. No charges were filed at this time but are possible charges are possible at a later date, pending lab results.

The second search warrant was served at 348 E. 2nd St. Four persons were located in the residence. Officer seized Heroin and Paraphernalia and Angela Seward was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of drug paraphernalia. This is the second time in the six months this residence was searched and drugs were found. Detective will contact the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office in reference to seizing the residence.

The third residence was located at 132 N. Watt St. During the search of the residence, heroin and paraphernalia were seized. There were five adults in the residence and two children. Ross County Children’s Services was called and the children were removed from the home due to living conditions. One person, Amanda Rapp, was arrested at this residence and served with an outstanding warrant charging Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments.

This is an ongoing effort by the Chillicothe Police Department to combat the drug trafficking in Chillicothe. The Chillicothe Police Department would like to thank the citizens who call to report activity in their neighborhoods and would encourage them to continue to contact the police department at 740-773-1191 or at drugtip@chillicothepolice.com to report suspicious behavior.

Reward in missing person case still being offered

The Chillicothe Police Department and Ross County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers, is offering a $1000.00 reward for any information leading to the whereabouts of Charlotte Trego. Ms. Trego was reported missing on May 18, 2014 by her mother. Ms. Trego is alleged to have been missing since May 3, 2014. Please contact Det. Fireworks time and traffic pattern

The city of Chillicothe fireworks display will be on the 4th at dusk (btwn. 9 And 10 pm). The display is set off from the city park annex, which will be closed to the general public. The flood wall remains open for viewing.
Traffic will be restricted in the park area after the fireworks. Remember, Alcohol and illegal fireworks are prohibited in the park.
Traffic pattern

After the City of Chillicothe’s annual fireworks display, the Chillicothe Police Department will be directing traffic on North High St., Yoctangee Pkwy, and E. Water St. Motorists will not be allowed to turn left from N. High St. onto all roads north of Mill St. Anyone wishing to travel to the west end of Chillicothe is encouraged to take Water Street westbound to Western Ave. or Mill St. All traffic on Back Road will be diverted to U.S. 35 eastbound. Officers will be directing traffic at all intersections on N. High St. and Yoctangee Pkwy. The Ohio Highway Patrol will have Troopers at SR 104 and US 35 also directing traffic.
