Rising Meth labs prompt search warrant service

On April 25, 2013 at approximately 8:00AM the Chillicothe Police Department Special Response Team and Detectives executed a search warrant at 87 N Rose St. Upon entering the residence the Special Response Team detected the strong smell of chemicals and could see fumes from these chemicals inside of the house. Three (3) subjects were removed from the house. Thirty to forty (30-40) “one-pot” meth labs were discovered inside of the residence, some of these actively “cooking” at the time of entry. The Chillicothe Fire Department Hazardous Materials team was called to the scene and are still actively working to neutralize the chemicals. This is the largest meth operation “bust” in the City of Chillicothe this year and the fifth (5th) one in the last month. The three (3) subjects located inside of the residence were all arrested and charged with possession of chemicals used to manufacture drugs. Additional charges against all three (3) subjects are pending the continuing investigation.
