Patrol Division
The Patrol Division of the department is responsible for the investigation of crimes, traffic accidents, disturbances, and all other incidents that require police service. In addition, all police officers have the responsibility to protect life and property, preserve the peace, prevent crimes,
and enforce the ordinances of Chillicothe and Statutes of the Ohio Revised Code.
The Patrol Division is comprised of three watches, Day watch (7A-3P), Evening watch (3P-11P) and night watch (11P-7A).
After years of using the Ford Crown Victoria as the primary patrol vehicle, the department has purchased three Dodge Chargers to supplement the fleet. The addition of these patrol cars has increased the visibility of the department. This has created a more positive image as we go through a change in policing. A Dodge Durango was also added as a Supervisor vehicle.
